Breath of Renewal: Releasing Generational Trauma

I felt the call to share about my most recent in-person Breathwork ceremony, Breath of Renewal, focused on releasing generational trauma.

This ceremony felt significant. With Samhain close (a time when I feel most connected to spirit and source), the energies leading up to the event were heightened and charged with anticipation. My nerves, this time, were pure excitement—I sensed it would be a powerful experience for everyone involved.

The theme of generational healing is one I’ve been exploring deeply in my own journey. I’ve been uncovering and working through the ancestral patterns that influence my life, especially those passed down by my parents. This shadow work, connected with Samhain’s potent energy, felt like the perfect offering for the collective.

This season is my absolute favourite. With my birthday at the start of November and Samhain’s energy surrounding me, I always feel a radiant, magical aura. On the day of the ceremony, I spent time carving pumpkins and clearing out old clothes, a personal ritual I hold dear. Samhain is my New Year, the Celtic New Year, and this ceremony preparation filled me with a sense of grounding and readiness. My connection to nature runs even deeper in autumn; the rich colours and vibrant landscapes bring me expansive joy.

The New Moon in Scorpio has brought clarity and transformation to my life—shaping my relationship, my career, and my deeply “Scorpio” dreams and intentions that have been manifesting for years. I felt a profound grounding that enhanced my sense of safety and alignment, a perfect foundation for this ceremony.

Creating the playlist for this event was a joy. I wanted it to feel mysterious and deep, yet playful and infused with a sense of renewal. The songs came together effortlessly, each one feeling like it belonged.

The ceremony itself was incredibly moving. I held the space with reverence, deeply honoured to support each woman’s journey. Emotions flowed freely—grief, love, and a spectrum of feelings filled the room. We shared a sacred space that felt safe, nurturing, and profoundly bonded. Afterward, we shared food, and one of the women eagerly recounted a vision she had about her childhood, touching all of us with her insight.

Following that evening, Shakti encouraged me to design a course for women to go even deeper. This will become my dissertation project, and I feel ready—like I’ve been preparing for this role all my life—to support women as they dive into their beliefs and self-narratives.

My own healing journey has been one of introspection, self-transformation, and rewriting old patterns that no longer serve my highest self. This work has taught me how to transmute limiting cycles into supportive, intentional ways of being.

Alongside the mystical side of my journey, I’ve been delving into the science of bodywork, neuroscience, and belief coding, which has grounded my practice. These studies have shown me how profoundly we can hold ourselves back, often without realising it. Working with Shakti and Breathing Space has expanded my learning list far beyond what I could have imagined; with every lesson, I find myself adding more.

It truly feels like my journey is just beginning. With two months left in my 10-month, 400-hour course, I’m realising more than ever who I am and what I’m here to bring into the world.
